How Russian transfer pricing legislation could cause problems for multinationals

Discrepancies between the OECD guidelines and Russia’s new transfer pricing legislation, which the president signed into law last month, could cause problems for international groups.

The legislation, which will come into force on January 1 2012, has been drafted to line-up with the OECD guidelines, especially as Russia is preparing for membership of the organisation, but differences are apparent, largely due to Russia’s inexperience in transfer pricing compared to more developed economies.
