Microsoft’s transfer pricing slashes US tax bill

Microsoft has taken advantage of transfer pricing to lower its effective tax rate in the US to just over half the statutory tax rate, according to its Form 10-K filing with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).
Microsoft said its effective tax rate, for the fiscal year 2011, was 15%, down from 25% in 2010 and considerably less than the US statutory tax rate of 35%.
