Why Silberztein is quitting the OECD

The jobs of both Caroline Silberztein, the OECD's head of the transfer pricing unit in the tax treaty, transfer pricing and financial transactions division, and Mary Bennett, the head of the division itself, were advertised by the OECD in May.
Silberztein said she would be leaving her post at the OECD in mid-September after almost 10 years with the organisation.
These have been 10 extraordinarily fulfilling years, both because of the challenging technical and political issues addressed here and thanks to the wonderful and highly professional people who work at the OECD and come as delegates to Working Party No. 6, said Silberztein.
While not having finalised anything, Silberztein expects to move into the private sector.
I very much enjoyed working in a truly international environment and contributing to the shaping of international transfer pricing policy. At this point in my career, however, I had to make a decision for personal reasons, said Silberztein. I am likely to go to the private sector, but I am still discussing a few options and at this stage and I have not finalised any arrangements. The OECD has released a vacancy and it is hoped that my replacement will be in place in early autumn. The Centre for Tax Policy and Administration is taking the necessary steps to ensure as smooth a transition as possible.
