China increases burden on overseas fee payments

The tax burdens of overseas fee payments from China have unavoidably increased due to the recent issuance of circulars and tax reforms, a leading tax professional has said.

Speaking to TPWeek, Rose Zhou, a transfer pricing partner at Grant Thornton, believes the new business tax regulation and its detailed implementation rules in early 2009 have drastically changed the way Chinese taxpayers handle overseas service fee payments.
