Tax authorities are on the trail of taxpayers

Tax authorities are bulking up their dedicated transfer pricing resources and gearing up for more audits and disputes, a major international survey says.
The IRS looked to hire 700 international specialists this past year with a focus on transfer pricing, more than doubling their previous total number of international examiners and economists of approximately 600, said David Canale, director of transfer pricing controversy services at Ernst & Young. Moreover, the Obama administration budget proposal includes budget for the IRS to hire an additional 800 international specialists with a focus on transfer pricing.
