Large transfer pricing disputes with up to billions of dollars at stake have made headlines in recent years. However, it is not only the amounts in dispute that are on the increase but the volume of such disputes. In addition to an increased focus on transfer pricing during the process of the tax audit, tax authorities appear to be showing a reduced willingness to reach a settlement at audit level. Germany is one of the many countries following this trend.
