Chrysler settles part of tax nightmare

Car maker Chrysler is closer to a strategic alliance deal with Fiat SpA after eliminating a transfer pricing hurdle that had threatened the process.
A tax dispute between Chrysler Canada and the Canadian federal government centred on transfer pricing, particularly the value of vehicles, parts and other goods and services exchanged between the US parent company and the company in Canada. About C$1 billion ($821 million) in taxes is estimated to be at stake.
