Spot checks by Finnish tax authority on transfer pricing documents anticipated by advisers
Businesses reporting under Finlands new transfer pricing rules are likely to face spot checks by the tax authority from June. The rules, which were introduced on January 1 2007, cover companies reporting with year ends from December 31 last year. They have six months to supply transfer pricing documents required by the authority under the new reporting scheme. Outi Ukkola, transfer pricing partner at Deloitte in Helsinki, says: Those companies whose financial year ended on December 31 2007 will start confronting the tax authorities requirements in June 2008. Companies are also obligated to deliver supplemental information within 90 days of a request of the tax authorities.
